BBC Broadcasting House - Security Refurbishment

Project outline

To undertake a complete refurbishment of the security at Broadcasting House to include access control, closed circuit television, digital recording, video cabling, equipment racks, control room console, bike turnstile, vehicle speedgates, speedlanes and pass gate.
The systems employed use state of the art detection and access control. The operators who operate and manage the system access the control detection and CCTV systems through a graphical interface.

  • Design and project management the security system for the W1 Broadcasting House redevelopment.
  • The scheme will consist of 250 CCTV cameras and 400 access control points.
  • Design and project manage the control room and associated equipment rooms and the security systems integration onto a one user platform.

  • 125 access control points predominately located at internal doors to restrict access
  • Glass turnstiles at main entrances
  • Intruder detection on lower levels external doors and vulnerable glazed areas
  • Dedicated Control Centre with slave stations located at the reception desk level 
  • Full anti-passback and anti-tailgating measures 
  • CCTV, control and access equipment was selected to meet functional and architectural requirements
