Project outline

Two new teaching blocks comprising library, IT and laboratory classrooms.  Extension to sports hall.

Refurbishment of existing science block into general classrooms, and administration.  Refurbish the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) into additional IT/Dining and social spaces.

Mechanical services- Development of the heating, hot and cold water services, gas and internal drainage strategy and phasing requirements of the existing services together with general and specialist ventilation systems.

Electrical Services- Development of the power, lighting, fire alarm and security systems strategy and phasing requirements of the existing services, together with the main incoming power infrastructure.  Co-ordination of containment systems for IT infrastructure.

Main benefits delivered – Identified associated risks of the existing services.  Advised College to instigate and undertake an independent survey of the existing electrical services, established the correct phasing of services and aided with the development of the main programme of works. Determined the services strategy required for each area of refurbishment.
